CAN "OLD SCHOOL RAPPERS" MAKE A COMEBACK?  pART 1

7/9/2013

"Old School Rappers" can make a comeback-but only if they work smarter and harder. They have to be ready to re-establish their sound and use today's tools (ex: internet). Also, artists shouldn't forget their roots and what made them relevant in the first place. They also have to be conscious of today's sound. That "Old School Rapper" is also going to have to do the groundwork (grind). They have to meet, touch and tell the audience about the new chapter they are creating.

The answer is yes. The top reason why "Old School Rappers" can make a comeback is because when it's their time, it's their time.  All rappers who made it in the industry have had that "moment of fame"-(their time to shine). Fortunately for some, that moment lasts much longer than just 15 minutes; it can last a lifetime. With the right talent, the right lyrics, the right producer, the right look, and the proper artist promotion and endorsements, that moment can happen more than once. He or she can definitely MAKE A COMEBACK! Next month, we'll reveal artists that can make a comeback. DJ Dan Dan – [email protected].

Is Hip Hop Dead or Does the Industry have to Step Up It's Game-Part 2?

Is  Hip Hop Dead or Does the Industry Need to Step Up Its Game- Part  2?
Hip hop is not dead... It’salive, but not as well as it used to be. The game is
in transition. New sound is being discovered, while old sound is being revisited
and reinvented. Hip hop fans are waiting for the two to mesh.

Hip Hop is still important. That’s why everyone is talking about MTV's "Hottest MCs VIII
List". It’s relevant who’s ranked the hottest MCs and in what order. We want to
know who is considered to be the best. The artists even wanted to have their own
say. Kanye West even called Hot 97 because he felt the need to voice his
opinion. (This even matters to the artists.)

He didn't want the music to  speak for itself; he wanted his say in the process. But this does not change the
fact that the consensus was that he, and other artists need to step up their
game, especially if they want to be crowned,‘Number One’... not only on the
MTV's "Hottest MCs VIII List"... but to hip hop period. Send your feedback to

When It’s Time to Sell – Clean Your House!!!

7/22/2012

When it’s time to sell, it’s time to clean. Treat this situation as if you were going on your first date and you were trying to make it love at first sight. If you don’t you’re at a disadvantage already (especially if there’s competition from other houses). If your house is a dump, people will value it less. Many times I am in properties and people want you to look past the mess and look at the room sizes, the layout and anything else but the mess. Honestly, it’s not possible. Most people won’t say anything; but they’re thinking it.

Here’s another issue; if the prospects are interested, they will offer less because they figure that they have a lot of work to do. The nicer the house, the more money they’re willing to pay and vice-versa. You also need to understand that just because you, your family and friends are used to the way you keep your house doesn’t mean a ready, willing and able buyer will be okay with it. Remember first impressions  have an impact on you, your prospective buyer and your wallet.

What People Say When Other People Aren’t Around

Fly on the Wall

Recently, P Buggy and I was sailing on the Hudson when a young African American lady and her guests boarded the boat to celebrate her thirtieth birthday. No big deal until the party started. Once the party started, the deejay, an African American began playing hip hop and r & b with explicit lyrics. The ‘N’ word and the mf’s were used as if they were reciting nursery rhymes.

P. Buggy, a self proclaimed, middle-aged white man never saw anything like this and was shocked!!!

After seeing this, we began talking and realized that there are some things that are said when other people aren’t around. We laughed that some of these same people from the party will be in church on Sunday and that they would never say these things there or at work. Apparently, there are things people say when others aren’t around, whether it’s Blacks about Whites or vice versa. Many say things to their friends that they would never say in public. If we could only be a fly on the wall and see what they really think.
